i say:
and hardly anything to be said about this place. no textual naming enough. walking the riparian canyon with clear running water. not too much, but enough. not too cold, but enough. harvesting a few spring fronds of sage. not sure exactly why, but just to have, perhaps for future blessings.

ice follows fire

Thu 30.Oct.2003
Boulder, Colorado

the month ending. all hallows eve. only 7 more weeks around Colorado. yesterday hot and dry, huge flames lick at the final hogback between the Rockies and Boulder. today ice coats everything. clouds cling so close that there is no town, no mountains. fire chills.

parting. so concentrating on seeing people, because I feel like this departure from Colorado will be more long-term than I can imagine. maybe, maybe not. strange to even be typing that, but it might be in the words. hmmmmm. with my in-box now brimming at around a constant 130 emails, after the application of 70 filters and spam removed and all the answers and questions each day going out. scandals at Media Lab, territory grabs, and in the US government. nothing new.

the hated

tracking a bunch of tunes from Erik's old punk band, The Hated, that was cool, intertwined with dialogue on the topics that have been a sparking presence in our conversations before. swimming, lifting, bumping tapes to rid the archive of huge and ancient U-matic tapes.

outcomes

Einstein. got no further. than that. entries at only one or two per month these days, awaiting some other outcome, future reference, stepping up, onward. side-stepping the past, no possibility of looking into it for now. the long path of the past log tails the dog, where hair of same-said dog would be more appropriate. physical placement seems to bring on a dullness. second skin growing over the eyes.

immersion or transcendance?

Fri 03.Oct.2003
Boulder, Colorado

another month, gone. and the leaves starting to fall. what about that dia-positioning of network vs hierarchy on a sliding scale. or about my tendency to lodge myself deep in a larger socio-structural situation, rather than a forward, through and beyond, ahead of, anywhere else, but enmeshed in the blasé norm. instead, place the self in line with the sunLight, staring hard, blind, into life-giving radiation.

they say:
I aim here only at revealing myself, who will perhaps be different tomorrow, if I learn something new which changes me. I have no authority to be believed, nor do I want it, feeling myself too ill-instructed to instruct others.
